About the Sonoma Valley Authors Virtual Festival

At a time when the art of listening seems to be disappearing, the need for civil discourse has never been greater.

With so many voices vying for our attention, people are receptive to well-informed speakers and eager for thoughtful conversation and discussion of ideas.

As regular attendees of various public and private lectures, founders Ginny and David Freeman discovered the world of author and speaker festivals and enjoyed connecting with others dedicated to life-long learning. Living in a region known for outstanding beauty, wine, and food, they felt called to create an experience that celebrates the magic of the Sonoma Valley, enhanced by the power of ideas and conversation fueled by reading.

COVID-19 health restrictions have prohibited meeting in Sonoma as planned, yet through our ten-day Virtual Festival we will present engaging and inspiring authors–writers whose work includes fiction and non-fiction, biographies, history, anthropology, adventure, and insight. Also participating will be thought leaders who are transforming lives through science, medicine, and technology.

At a time when the 24-hour news cycle and social media compete for our attention, co-mingling facts and opinions, the Sonoma Valley Authors Festival creates a shared experience where attendees will be captivated by some of the greatest writers and thinkers of our day who will stimulate our minds and nurture our souls. We hope you agree!

Enjoy the virtual festival and tell your friends. It is free to anyone who signs up. Please plan to join us August 27-29, 2021, at the Sonoma Mission Inn for our next live Sonoma Valley Authors Festival.
